Resonance - James Batchelor and Collaborators

Resonance is a powerful new dance work from award-winning choreographer James Batchelor and Collaborators, uniting three generations of Australian dancers in a moving celebration of memory, connection, and reinvention.

I am delighted to be a guest artist in the Kamberri season of resonance.

Clothing the Loop

Clothing the Loop is a collision of fashion, art, design and activism presented by Australian Dance Party and circular and sustainable designer KELI Studio to inspire and activate textile and fashion circular economies.

I will be working with artist Lexi Keelan to create a publication for this event.

Queer Reads

Join MARION, Bookface Gungahlin and Kamberri region writers and readers for a celebration of Queer literature. This free, informal event will be full of book recommendations, literary discussion and connection.

Interdisciplinary Arts Party

This craft focused workshop and tea party will give participants an insight into writing in conversation with other artistic disciplines. Through discussion, observation and practical exercises, participants will explore the possibilities working across form can have on the content, tone, rhythm and energy of their writing whether it be poetry, prose or for live performance.

I had the pleasure of launching the wonderful Sam Faulkner's edited collection of stories about growing up Torres Strait Islander in Australia.

A Bold Critique

I was recently in conversation with Dr Michelle Potter, AM as part of the 2024 Bold Festival where we discussed arts criticism and dance writing. 

ACT HUB Forum / The Importance of Queer Stories

In conjunction with the upcoming season of Queers, Everyman Theatre and ACTHub presented a conversation between 3 queer Canberra storytellers: myself; Dylan Van Den Berg, writer of Whitefella Yella Tree; and Kaya Wilson, author of As Beautiful As Any Other.

Headland Writers Festival 2023

I facilitated a panel with the wonderful Erin Riley and Matilda Bosely and taught a workshop on pathways into publishing.

Up-cycled fashion and the ethics of what we wear

I was part of an afternoon about fashion with a conscience, speaking at the Sustaining Our Future North Canberra Sustainability Festival.

IDAHOBIT Day at Book Cow

On the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) last month I was very lucky to speak at an event put on by the Book Cow in Kingston alongside the incredible Jenni from A Gender Agenda. Together with a group of readers, we talked about the stories we love, those we hope to read, and those we wished were better.

As part of the BOLD annual conference I was lucky to give a talk on writing and dance and what the two art forms can learn from one another.
