I have maintained a movement practice for most of my life šŸ’ƒ. In my younger years, this was primarily based in contemporary dance. During this time, I performed for QL2 Dance in both regional and international tours as well as for brother, choreographer James Batchelor.

More recently, I have been practicing Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Yin yoga; movement and energetic practices that now deeply inform my choreographic interests.

šŸŒø resident street.

In 2023, I was selected to participate in Canberra Theatre Centreā€™s New ideaā€™s Lab to explore adapting my writing for live performance. During this development, I worked with Danielle Micich, the Artistic Director of Force Majeure, investigating the possibilities of combining text and movement.

In November 2023, I participated in a two week intensive professional development opportunity with Force: INCITE to further investigate this idea.

In 2024, I am a resident artist at The Street Theatre where I am currently developing an interdisciplinary live performance work that draws together both my written and movement practices.

šŸŒø mentoring and dramaturgy.

In 2023 and 2024, I was fortunate to mentor the young dance artists at QL2 Dance in the development of their own short contemporary dance works.

I am particularly interested in supporting the dramaturgical development of dance and theatre.

šŸŒø production design.

As well as movement-based practice, I have developed a strong interest in costume and production design.

In October 2022, I designed costumes for the Everyman Theatre staging of Beautiful Thing by playwright Jonathan Harvey at ACTHUB. In 2024, I supported costumes for the Everyman Theatre staging of The Inheritance by playwright Matthew LĆ³pez.
